Alias: Grant Kiessling
Age: 22
Skating for how many years now?: Three and some change.
Worst bail: First time breaking in the new leathers. Got caught off balance exiting a turn by a gust of wind and Superman'd at 50 plus. Let's just say they're broken in now.
Favorite races: Barrett is SO rad; great road, great people, great weekend. Racing for pinks need to happen more though.
Podiums: Got a couple podiums in local races... 2012 will be a good year for racing though.
Favorite run: "4 Miles of Bliss" from back home... It has more meaning than any other road out there for me.
Fastest gone: 63 MPH but looking to break that here soon!
Current set-up: C R Boardworks HuDu VuDU Tu, 49* Buzzed, Magic Bearings and any wheels that will get the job done... Preferably S9 RF's or Abec 11 Classic thane.
Boards you own: C R Boardworks for life! Leviathan, F-Bomb, Hudu Vudu and a prototype I've been working on for a bit.
First board: Sector 9 Mini and then a Sector 9 Goddess. Miss that board!
Gnarly turns, freshly paved roads, and no traffic are all things that drive Grant Kiessling. This 21 year old shreds the foothills of his hometown of Fresno, any second he can. Passionate about every aspect of the sport, Grant started Operation Free Ride to get boards in the hands of more skaters. Since the loss of fellow Cen Cal skater, Sean Smith, to a longboarding accident, he has been pushing his limits and dedicating more time to going fast. Even though he's stuck behind a desk five days a week, he still finds time to throw skate events and screen print t-shirts. GET SOME!!
